COST

The enrollment fare to participate in this league is ¢20.000 per year, which must be cancelled in January or during the month in which the participation begins.

This enrollment entitles them to participate in the interclub tournaments on Ladies’ Day Wednesdays. They will also be able to play in the pre-classification and classification tournaments of the team that will play in the Central American tournaments. (Only Country Club and Cariari members can participate in this tournament, because it is an interclub tournament in which just these two clubs in Costa Rica can play.)

The money raised by the League will be used to buy prizes for the tournaments and for the lunch and end of the year party. It will also be invested in the expenses related to the Central American Golf Tournament, according to the criteria of the general coordinator and the treasures.


REGLAS GENERALES LADIES’ DAYS

The R&A and local clubs regulations will be applied.
The ball will be played as it is found (13-1.) IT WILL NOT be touched, unless it is allowed by a rule (18-2) (Local Rule)
Every player of Country, Cariari, Valle del Sol, Los Reyes and Monterán is welcome.

The days to play will be:

Country First Wednesday Green Fee - 0
Valle del Sol Second Wednesday Green Fee - ¢6500.
Cariari Third Wednesday Green Fee - ¢2500.
Los Reyes Fourth Wednesday Green Fee - $10.
Monterán Fridays 6:00-4:30 Green Fee - $15.

The tee off hour will be between 7:00 and 8:30. After that time, the golf courts will not commit to admit players participating in ladies’ days.

During the Ladies’ Days when the ranking or a national tournament is being played, the ladies enrolled in them will have a start priority. Ladies not participating in the ranking or national tournament will have to start in the last groups.

It will be allowed to play in threesome or maximum foursome.

At least two players will have to carry a card, one of the tournament kind and one for the handicap official.

The categories will be defined according to the day’s attendance, with a minimum of 4 people per category. If there is not enough people, they will have to participate in the next category.


A - 0 to 25 hcp.
B - 26 to 35 hcp.
C - 36 to 40 hcp.

In case of a tie game, the player with the lowest handicap will win, or according to what that day’s tournament describes.

There will be a prize for every category. These prizes will be presented during the lunch meetings in the house of any of the hosts during the following dates: APRIL 20, JUNE 22, SEPTEMBER 7 and DECEMBER 7.

There will be a prize at the end of the year for the players who have gotten the highest amount of birdies during Ladies’ Days, and accompanied by another member of the Women’s League. The eagles and hole-in-one will also be awarded. The player will have to hand in the card signed by herself and by a witness, and write the date and hole in the corresponding board in every club.

The two players with more attendance during the year will get a prize too.

COURTESIES

  • It is not allowed the use of cell phones during the games. Doing so will be penalized with disqualification for the day.
  • Help a new member to find somebody to play with.
  • Do not write the scores on the green. Do it on the following tee.
  • Fix the shafts in the green. Do not drag your feet. Do not stand on another player’s line. Mark your ball.
  • Be mindful that your caddy fixes your shafts and the sand areas.
  • Play without dragging. One practice swing must be enough. As soon as you hit the ball, keep a fast, steady pace so there is fluency in the court.
  • Let other players pass you by if you are delaying the game. Wait until they are out of reach to continue playing.
  • Do not stand behind a person who is going to hit. Do not talk or move at that moment either

 

TOURNAMENTS DESCRIPTION

PUTTS
Each player will have to score the number of putts she executes in every green. The winner will be the player who scores less putts in the 18 holes.

Tiebreak by the card of the 28th hole backwards.

PUTTS IN 5 HIDDEN HOLES
When all the players are out of the court, the club’s pro will choose 5 holes.

Every player will have to write the number of putts she executes in each green.

The winner will be the player who scores less putts in the five holes chosen by the pro.

Tiebreak by the card of the 28th hole backwards.

POINTS (stableford)
Full handicap is used.

Points are scored according to the net total obtained in each hole:

3 under par 5 pts.
2 under par 4 pts.
1 under par 3 pts.
Par 2 pts.
1 over par 1 pt.
2 o more over par 0 pts.

REMOVE YOUR THREE WORSE HOLES
At the end of the game, every player will retreat their three worse holes. The winner will be the player who has the low net of the 15 remaining holes.

HIDDEN HOLES
Once all the players are out of the court, the club’s pro will choose the 9 holes that are going to be taken into account for that day. The players will not know about it until they are done playing the 18 holes.

The low net will be drawn using half of the handicap of each player.

NASSAU
It is played medal play with handicap. There following will be awarded:

- First nine holes – low net
- Second nine holes – low net
- 18 holes – low net


FLAGS
At the beginning of the game, every player is given a flag with her name on and her handicap.

This flag must be left at the place where she has already used all of her handicap. If she still has strokes at the end of hole 18, she will have to continue to hole 1, until she finishes her strokes.

EVEN HOLES
Even holes net will be taken into account. The winner will be she who has the lowest net, using only half of the handicap.

ODD HOLES
Odd holes net will be taken into account. The winner will be she who has the lowest net, using only half of the handicap.

LACE
Each player will be given a lace which length will correspond to her handicap. (One foot for every stroke of the handicap.)

The ball will move forward or move to a better position anytime during the game. The distance will be measured with the lace, and that part will be cut off it. When the lace is over, the player will continue with the game as usual.


BLIND PARTNERS
Once all the players have left the court, the club’s pro will make pairs at random. The player will not know who their partner will be until they have finished playing all the 18 holes. The winner pair will be that with the lowest total net.


MATCH PLAY AGAINST THE COURT
The handicap points will be granted to every player for every hole. If the player strikes less than the par of that hole with the handicap, she gets a point. If she strikes that hole’s par, she ties and gets no point. If she does more strikes than that hole’s par, she will lose it and will be lowered one point. The winner will be the player who has won more holes in the court, in other words, the one who scored more points.

Example: player handicap 18 – gets 1 point per hole.

In a par 5 hole, if 5 is scored she will win the court the hole and will get 1 point. In case of scoring 6, she ties the hole with the court and gets no points. In case of scoring 7, she loses the hole to the court and gets one point off.

LADIES RANKING SYSTEM
GENERAL REGULATIONS

1. OF THE GAME:

  • It will be played under the R and A regulations.
  • The ball will be played as it is found (13-1.) IT WILL NOT be touched, unless a rule states otherwise (18-2) (Local Rule.)
  • Spikes marks will not be fixed.
  • A ball buried in its own shaft will be dropped in the same place.
  • In case of doubt, two balls will be played.
  • It is mandatory to play without delaying the game (6-7).
  • It will be played from the red tees.
  • Caddies will NOT enter the rough until a player is present.
  • SIGN AND CHECK the card at the end of the round.
  • Only senior ladies will be permitted to use golf carts.

2. OF THE PARTICIPATION AND NORMS:

  • One must be an active member of Anagolf in order to participate.
  • Those who initiate a medal tournament and do not complete the program will no be allowed to play the next ranking tournament, according to the calendar’s sequence in which the player is enrolled. All exceptions will be carefully analyzed by the Ladies Committee. The non-playing in the following tournament punishment will be applied according to the committee’s criteria, in cases of not showing up with a previous notification, bad behavior, and other inappropriate attitudes against the golf etiquette.
  • The participants will play on the date and time already established, and in the foursome assigned by the committee. There will be no exceptions under any circumstance. The groups will be created according to the handicap of every player. A second day would have to be played just because of score.
  • Junior players of competitive quality and potential will be invited, according to the Ranking Committee criteria.
  • Any additional matter related to the etiquette regulations will be indicated and solved by the Anagolf Discipline Committee.
  • In order to represent Costa Rica in international tournaments, the first places of the ranking accumulated scores will be chosen. This, according to the process Anagolf establishes at that moment.
  • In order to choose the team going to the world championship (those with a handicap lower than 10), it will be taken into account tournaments played until May (inclusive.) Anagolf has the right to keep a player of their own choice.
  • The participants will authorize in advance the publication of their pictures and/or movies in the mass media.
  • Important Notice: Each player is responsible of confirming Anagolf her participation in the Ranking, at least two working days before the tournament, in order to make it easier for the Association to confirm the groups. Such confirmation can be done through fax or e-mail. The players who did not confirm and show up the day of the tournament WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PLAY IN IT.

3. OF THE POINTS:

  • During the Match Play national tournament, the points will be shared out among all the participants, no matter their category.
  • The tournaments distribution with their corresponding points will be done as follows for every year:
    6 to 7 Ranking tournaments of 100.000 points: 700.000
    1 Mini Mayor of 200.000 points: 200.000
    2 Main tournaments of 300.000 points: 600.000
    Total 1.500.000
  • Points Distribution per tournament according to the positions:
    1- 28% 6- 6%
    2- 20% 7- 5%
    3- 15% 8- 3%
    4- 11% 9- 2%
    5- 9% 10- 1%
  • Each one replaces the tournament equivalent of the last year.
  • The score of all the tournaments is the one that counts. Low scores will not be eliminated.
